No. A high HPLC purity percentage does not establish an endotoxin level. They describe different properties and need different evidence. If endotoxin matters to your research, include it as a separate requirement rather than assuming that \u201chigh purity\u201d covers it.<\/p>\n

What is endotoxin?<\/h2>\n

Endotoxin is associated with the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. It is a different question from whether the intended peptide dominates an analytical chromatogram. A peptide purity report, an endotoxin test and a sterility test should not be treated as interchangeable documents.<\/p>\n

Read the unit with the result<\/h2>\n

An endotoxin result may be expressed per volume or per mass, for example EU\/mL or EU\/mg. EU means endotoxin unit, a measure of biological activity in the assay; it is not a peptide mass unit. A number without its unit and sample basis is incomplete.<\/p>\n

A unit-conversion example, not a pass limit<\/h2>\n

Suppose the same prepared sample has 2 EU\/mL and a documented material concentration of 4 mg\/mL. On that same mass basis, 2 \u00f7 4 = 0.5 EU\/mg. This invented example is not a safe level, an acceptance limit or an NHD result. Converting units does not make an unsuitable test valid or resolve an unknown concentration basis.<\/p>\n

Ask whether the method works with this sample<\/h2>\n

FDA\u2019s March 2026 guidance discusses interference and method suitability in regulated-product testing. For a research enquiry, the useful question is whether the sample can interfere with the assay and how suitability is established. That guidance does not give one universal acceptance limit for all research peptides.<\/p>\n

What to send with an enquiry<\/h2>\n

State the peptide, intended research, required limit and unit, sample or concentration basis, and whether you need a lot-specific report. Ask whether testing is available, which method will be used and whether suitable controls are included. Agree the scope before ordering; this article does not confirm that NHD offers a particular endotoxin test.<\/p>\n
