Connect original batch identity, aliquot labels and handover records so two laboratories can trace what they actually received.

Keep the original batch identifier
An original batch identifier traces the source; aliquot identifiers distinguish later containers. Keep both. Teaching example: batch X is split into X-A and X-B. These are fictional identifiers, not NHD batch records. Labels A and B alone would lose their source connection.
Record each portion individually
Record amount, container, aliquoting date, operator and receiving laboratory. For solutions, retain the concentration basis, solvent, final volume and preparation record. Matching labels do not prove identical handling or sample condition.

Record the handover as well as dispatch
Keep dispatch, handover and receipt details, including relevant storage or transport conditions. Temperature requirements must come from applicable material and project information, not this diagram. Record actual abnormalities rather than filling in “normal” for completeness.
Compare processing before blaming the source batch
Check solvents, dilution, containers, methods and extra freeze–thaw or cleanup steps at each lab. A common batch indicates common origin, not an absence of later handling differences that could affect comparability.
Splitting is not retesting or a new release
Original material documents, aliquot records and receipt records serve different purposes. Do not attach invented results to new aliquot identifiers or imply that every container was individually tested because original batch results exist.
Plan the document trail during the enquiry
For BPC-157, LL-37 or KPV, list intended distribution, label fields and document handover requirements. Related pages help confirm identity. Availability of the specific aliquoting and delivery arrangement still needs confirmation.
