Requesting a peptide quote: what should you include?

By NHD Technical TeamPublished Updated Oct 16, 2026

When requesting a quote, write the specifications, quantity, and needed documents clearly so the supplier can respond to your needs easily. The five examples below can all be adapted to your own situation.

First, state the "how much" completely

"I want GHK-Cu" only states the name. "I want two boxes of GHK-Cu, each vial labeled 50 mg, 10 vials per box" states the specifications and quantity. The quantity in this example is a needs example, not a minimum order quantity or supply commitment.

Number of boxes, number of vials, and amount per vial are three different things. If what you need is a total amount, you can also state whether different packaging arrangements are acceptable; the supplier should confirm the actual packaging and the basis for the quote.

How to write five common requests

Small vial quantity: I would like to learn about GHK-Cu research material, 50 mg per vial, 10 vials per box, need two boxes. Please confirm the specifications, packaging, and cost items currently available for quote.

Multi-box purchase: I need to inquire about Tirzepatide research material. The intended amount per vial and total number of boxes are as follows. Please separately explain the basis for the quote, the documents actually available, and the purchasing arrangements. If the amount per vial is not yet determined, you may list candidate specifications and ask the supplier to compare.

Identity form: I need CJC-1295 with DAC, not without DAC. Please confirm the complete material identity, as well as the form and specifications corresponding to the quote. For products with easily confused names, it is best to also include the required sequence or modification description.

Mixture: I would like to learn about BPC-157 and TB-500 mixed material. Please separately confirm the total labeled amount, the labeled amount of each component, and the specific material identity of TB-500. Do not just write "10 mg total."

Document communication: We are preparing to conduct a certain study and need to first confirm the material identity, batch records, and testing documents actually available. Please explain which documents already exist and which items have not been tested or cannot be provided.

Quotes also use different quantity units

After receiving a reply, first confirm whether the price is calculated per vial, per box, or per total amount. Then check whether the packaging quantity, currency, shipping, and other costs are explained. If the quantity unit is unclear, even if the total price looks low, it is hard to compare fairly.

An inquiry template does not replace a contract or technical agreement. If there are identity forms, analytical items, or delivery conditions that must be met, both parties should clearly confirm them; do not infer them from general wording in a product description.

If some information is unknown, you can directly write pending confirmation

If the sequence, salt form, concentration, or required documents are unclear, write "pending confirmation" in the corresponding item and explain the problem to be addressed. For example, "used for research comparing two materials, need to avoid confusion between with and without DAC" is more useful than "send the best one."

Judgments involving research methods should be confirmed by the people actually responsible for the research and testing. Making the question clear is to reduce information gaps, not to hand over material selection responsibility to a template.

Work through the quantity in a quote request

Suppose the request is for 50 mg per vial, 10 vials per box, and two boxes. That is 10 × 2 = 20 vials and a total labeled amount of 50 × 20 = 1000 mg, or 1 g. Confirm what the labeled 50 mg represents. This example is not an NHD minimum order, stock statement or quote.

A cheaper box may not have a lower unit price

For hypothetical quotes, box A costs 900 currency units for ten 10 mg vials; box B costs 500 for five 10 mg vials. By labeled amount alone, A costs 9 per mg and B costs 10 per mg. Shipping, material form and available test records are not included, so this calculation alone cannot decide which supplier to choose.

What should you clarify after receiving the quote?

Check the pricing unit, packaging, amounts of individual blend components, availability of requested documents, and agreed costs and delivery arrangements. Keep unanswered points open rather than filling them with assumptions.

Inquire about specifications, quantities and required documentation

A Peptide Name in a Paper Is Not a Complete Order

Turn a literature reference into a clearer enquiry by separating identity, quantity, packaging and documentation requirements.

Find identity information beyond the short name

Check methods and supplements for sequence, termini and modifications. Metal binding, fluorescent labels, D-amino acids and fusion constructs need explicit description. GHK-Cu, free GHK and a particular coordination system are not merely alternative spellings.

Leave missing information as a question

Teaching example: a paper says LL-37 but gives no salt form or packaging. An enquiry can state “LL-37; verify sequence against attachment; salt and packaging to be confirmed.” Do not fill gaps from habit. Visible uncertainty is safer than a complete-looking but incorrect order.

Put specifications in separate fields

State total amount, amount per vial, vial count and the agreed material-quantity basis. List split deliveries, same-batch aliquots or retained samples separately. A bare “10 mg” may mean one vial or the whole order; a complete sentence removes the ambiguity.

Make documentation questions answerable

List the identity, purity method, content definition and batch-record information needed instead of requesting “all quality documents.” Confirm what exists and what is outside scope. A literature link does not prove that a batch underwent every analysis in that paper.

Add a short purpose statement

Explain whether the material is for method development, cell research, controls or another research purpose, including particular salt, impurity or label concerns. Context helps clarify requirements without guaranteeing results. A paper's experimental quantity is not automatically your procurement amount.

A practical enquiry outline

Include name and reference; sequence, termini and modifications; amount and packaging; intended research; documentation questions; delivery arrangements; and unresolved items. Use the related product cards to check identity, then attach the relevant page to the enquiry.
